Prerequisites: dBoot requires Windows 98 or later, along with the .Net Framework 2.0. If you do not have the .Net Framework installed, you can download it for free here. Note that if you are running Linux and have Mono installed, you may also be able to run dBoot, though I have not yet tested it for this scenario.

What's new?
Version 1.8:
- Finally added the frequently requested feature of allowing partial dates for the Date Recorded field. Users can now specify partial dates by using an "x" which is commonly used on many BitTorrent trading sites.
Version 1.7.6:
- Fixed issue where the boot add/edit form's lower portion extended beyond the bottom of the screen for users with vertical resolution of 800 pixels or less.
Version 1.7.5:
- Removed option to reorder boot IDs. This feature turned out to potentially cause more problems than it would solve. The ID column should really only be regarded as a system field and should not be considered particularly useful to the user.
Version 1.7.4:
- Added an option to reorder boot IDs to fill in the gaps that deleted boots may have left, as well as to start the IDs at 1.
Version 1.7.3:
- Added ability to drag and drop text files into the Text File and Fingerprint fields on the add/edit boot form which will place the text from those files in the respective fields.
Version 1.7.2:
- Last sort column and sort direction is now saved when the application is closed.
- Made a minor change to how column headers are truncated when a column is resized to be narrower than its header.
Version 1.7.1:
- Grid column widths are now saved when the application is closed.
- Main form's window state (normal or maximized) is saved when the application is closed.
Version 1.7:
- Added Export to CSV functionality. The database contents can now be saved to CSV for use in other applications or for sharing your collection with other dBoot users who can then import your data into their application.
- Added automatic detection of URLs to grid cells so when a cell value is a URL, it appears as a clickable link which will launch your default web browser with the URL.
- Made a few cosmetic changes so context menu and menu bar items are more consistent.
Version 1.6:
- Added four custom fields to the boot entry screen. You can name these custom fields any thing you like by visiting the Edit Custom Field Names form in the Tools menu, so if you want a separate field for Venue and Taper location, you can easily do so and have these fields show up in the grid by turning them on in the Columns form. You can also import into these fields.
Version 1.5.2:
- Fixed bug where boot image was incorrectly resized when the original image was not 96dpi.
Version 1.5.1:
- Added option for delimiters other than comma when importing a CSV file.
- Improved logging of a failed import when the CSV cannot be read or an incorrect delimiter is selected.
Version 1.5:
- Added import feature. You can now import an existing CSV boot list into dBoot, so those of you who have made a big investment in documenting your collection using Microsoft Excel can now easily get up and running with dBoot without having to manually re-enter all your data. NOTE: I strongly recommend that you back up your existing database before importing your CSV data. This can easily be done by copying the boots.mdb file from your installation directory to another folder on your hard drive. If your import fails or you map a field incorrectly, you can restore your database by closing dBoot and copying your backup of the boots.mdb folder back into the installation directory.
- Gave the UI a minor facelift to facilitate some of the newer features of the application.
- Changed grid in the main form to be multi-select so that more than one record can be deleted at a time.
Version 1.2.0.1:
- Fixed bug where an image would remain uncompressed and could potentially make the database very large. Images are now resized so no one side is larger than 500 pixels and are stored in PNG format. Note that the image field should not necessarily be used to permanently store artwork for a boot; it is simply for storing a small image that can be viewed along with the boot itself.
Version 1.2:
- Added ability to specify an image for each boot in the database.
- Miscellaneous bug fixes.
Version 1.1.4:
- Added ability to add new list items from the Manage Lists form.
- Fixed various bugs on the Manage Lists form.
Version 1.1.3:
- Fixed program's icon.
- Updated sorting functionality on artist column so that the titles of boots are in alphabetical order for each artist.
Version 1.1.2:
- Fixed tab order on add/edit boot form.
- Changed auto-complete for combos to be more user-friendly.
- Combos no longer default to the first item in the list, but instead default to a blank value.
Version 1.1.1:
- Fixed bug where sorting by columns with blank values would crash the application
- Added a "Manage lists" feature where list items like artist, boot type, etc. could be renamed or deleted.
- Made minor cosmetic changes to the grid.
